
This is a 10 month position (August - May) with a two year commitment at Millsaps College, which is a NCAA Division III, private, four year, liberal arts college in Jackson, Mississippi.
Opportunities for graduate classes are available through Jackson State University, if desired.
Responsibilities:
The graduate assistant/intern will assist the staff athletic trainers in the coverage of the 18 varsity sports offered at Millsaps College. Responsibilities include assisting with the day to day operations in the athletic training room, prevention, assessment and rehabilitation of injuries and developing administrative skills. This position will consist of travel with assigned sports as well as home practice and competition coverage. The graduate assistant/intern will have an opportunity to supplement his/her income by covering events for Mississippi Sports Medicine and working summer camps.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field, NATABOC certification by August 1, 2011, current first aid/CPR/AED certification. Have or be eligible for the Mississippi State Athletic Trainer License. Candidate must possess good communication skills.
