All of the important questions of our time are inherently political. The major events within our world are shaped by students of government. Upon leaving Millsaps with a Political Science degree, you will be more apt to respond to the important issues of our day. This degree will not limit you to the political. Instead, it will serve to develop your critical thinking skills which are necessary in any field.

Political science is an ideal liberal arts major for careers in:

  • Law
  • Business
  • Journalism
  • Public Affairs
  • International Affairs
  • All levels of Government
  • Teaching
  • Interest Groups
  • and Many Others!

State Treasurer Tate Reeves, a Millsaps graduate, spoke January 13 at the Else School of Management to a group of graduate level governmental accounting students and undergraduate political science students. His presentation was designed to help students understand the context of fiscal issues the state must manage.

Students participating were from the classes of Terri Hudson, visiting instructor of accounting, and Dr. Michael Reinhard, assistant professor of political science.
