
Come hear each member of the Music Department at Millsaps College perform on September 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ford Recital Hall of the Academic Complex. Admission is free.
"Our department members are not just teachers but also performers, and many are well known in the community because of their involvement with numerous music-related organizations," said Dr. Cheryl Coker, chairman of the department. "Our faculty showcase happens just once a year, and it's a great way to get to know everyone as a performer. It's our gift to the community."
Featured will be performances by Dr. Timothy Coker, piano; Dr. Cheryl Coker, soprano; Dr. Rachel Heard, piano; James Martin, baritone; Dr. Lynn Raley, piano; Carol Durham, organ; Gayle Entrekin, flute; Chrissy Hrivnak, soprano; Janette Sudderth, cello and piano; Danuta and Janus Szlubowska, piano duo; James Turner, guitar; and Song Xie, violin.
Performances will feature the music of Brahms, Ravel, Marc Francis and Georges Barrere with songs by Bernstein, Bolcom, Weber, Rossini, and Nina Simone.
